Winfield Scott

General Winfield Scott stood a towering six feet and five inches tall. He was notorious for his strict military discipline and regimen. Scott's amphibious landing at Veracruz and subsequent victories eventually led to the capture of Mexico City on September 14, 1847. Winfield Scott (1786 - 1866)
