This drawing is a satire of Bostonians and their efforts to hold on to liberty in the midst of the occupation by the Royal Army and Navy. The drawing is best interpreted through the viewpoint of those in England who supported Parliment and the king and were sharply dissatified with the behavior of the citizens of Boston.
