About PBS VIDEOindexing and the PBS VIDEOindex Online
PBS VIDEOindex tools enrich the teaching and learning experience
Using PBS VIDEOindex tools saves you time and enhances your educational experience, whether you're teaching or learning.
What is PBS VIDEOindexing?
This exclusive indexing system uses a unique time clock embedded in each video to help you pinpoint the people, places, event, and topics you want on videotape - you simply fast forward! PBS VIDEOindexing can make finding everything on tape easier than ever!
How does it work?
Simply purchase an indexed video program from PBS. Along with each indexed video you'll receive a printed index for that program or series that will help you locate the exact segment you want by giving you a time code. Using the onscreen time clock, you can quickly locate the people, places, events, topics or issues of interest to you. You can expand your search by using the PBS VIDEOindex Online, which includes all the listings in the printed index, plus much more!
Using the PBS VIDEOindexing is easy - it's just like a textbook index and is as easy as 1-2-3:
- Select the subject matter you want to locate (person, event, timeframe, etc.)
- Find the indexed video volume number you need in the printed or online index
- Load the selected video into your VCR and use the PBS VIDEOindex time clock to go to the exact minute and second you need.
